Booking Your Session
We are generally booked three weeks out in the spring and summer and 5 weeks out in the fall. Only two sessions are booked per day M-W-F and one session every other weekend.
Your session fee is due at the time of booking and is non-refundable. Please call ready to chat for about 20 minutes. I want to get to know you and get a feel for the style of art you are looking for from your portraits. We will also book your Portrait Design Consultation at this time. Please look for a time that will work for you and your spouse and allow for 2 hours. Childcare or a special playdate should be arranged for little ones so we can make some incredible art together!
Little Bean offers different styles of custom sessions depending on your portrait desires. All of our sessions include a pre-session consultation, by phone or in person, to create the perfect experience to suit you and your family.
Also included with each session, is a portrait design consultation at our studio in St. Louis Park. Scheduled for one to two weeks after your session, a little bean design consultant will present your portraits to you in a beautiful custom slideshow. She will help you decide on your favorites and design artwork exclusively for you and your home. Your consultation is booked along with your session.
All artwork and prints are sold separately from your session. A full price list is available upon request. As our clients tend to invest in photography as artwork in their home, most spend between $1000 – $3000. A $500 initial order at the time of your design consultation is due to archive your full session. Little Bean has no minimum investment requirements as purchased images are archived indefinitely.
We also offer a full-service custom framing design experience through Grand Frames on Excelsior, our very own framing and art boutique adjoining the studio.

Stylin’ those Babes
As a rule, don’t fret! Pick out a few outfits and I will help you decide when we arrive at the shoot. If we will be inside your home, please keep in mind that the clothing should coordinate with your child’s surroundings. I like to suggest looking at websites that put funky outfits together for you. Let the stylists at J.Crew or BabyGap do the work for you. Head into local boutiques like Bebe Babble and have them put some things together for you.
Babies – Simple is best. I like babies in the least amount of clothing possible. Having a few hats on hand and some fun blankies for texture is all we really need. Outfits tend to overwhelm their tiny features and are best saved until they are sitting up on their own. Color is great in small amounts. Try some baby legs or hugga-lugs with a onesie, too. Rules are made to be broken! Please ask me if you have fun ideas of your own.
Children – Go funky! Striped tights and boots, a scarf and silly hat, vintage tee and jeans with bare feet. Brightly colored swimsuits and a beach ball. I love the casual looks best. While a golf shirt is an easy choice for boys, maybe layer it underneath a bright buttondown, untuck it and roll up the sleeves. Make it cool…
Families – Definitely a trickier subject. Pick a group of complimentary colors and let everyone have their own style. I love to see some pattern on a few individuals and throw in some accessories like a hat or scarf. If it is cold, make sure that the coats are in good shape and steer clear of ski jackets, please. Unless, of course, we are going skiing!
